The Anti-Corruption Commission found Quinat Preschool project worth $95,120.53 abandoned for years

AMBENO (TOP) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (CAC) found that a Quinat preschool building project worth $95,120.53 has been abandonedsince 2023 and is still unfinished.

According to information that The Oe-Kusi Post (TOP) accessed from the CAC Fan Page, the Ministry of Education is the owner of the Pre-School construction project, and has made 30% payment according to the progress of physical work in the field.

On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, CAC Commissioner, Rui Pereira dos Santos conducted an official working visit to RAEOA and met with the Director of the Regional Public Works Service (SROP), Remigio Nuno Sila and his engineering structure at the SROP office.

The objective of the meeting, CAC Commissioner accompanied by Anti-Corruption Specialist, Ferdinal Alves talked about abandoned and pending projects in RAEOA that the winning companies projects have not finalized.

Some projects in RAEOA almost companies have implemented well and finalized, but there are still 6 projects that have not been finalized. Therefore, the CAC Commissioner together with the CAC engineering team during a week worked in Ambeno to inspect the pending projects.

During the meeting with SROP Director, Remigio Nuno Sila, CAC Commissioner recommended that entrepreneurs who do not have the financial capacity to complete projects can make a letter of resignation.

CAC Commissioner recommended to the Director of SROP that, after he received the resignation letter of the company implementing the abandoned project, SROP and its technicians consulted with the legal part of RAEOA to make a new tendering for the remaining 70% project so that other companies can finalize.

“Part of SROP RAEOA can make new quotations and RfQs according to the procurement procedure so that other entrepreneurs can continue work and finalize abandoned projects in RAEOA,” said Commissioner Rui during the meeting.

TK Unipessoal, Lda abandoned the project worth $95,120.53 starting on October 18, 2023 with a duration of three years.

The Ministry of Education as the owner of the project has made 30% payment according to the progress of physical work in the field.
